I’m curious to see everyone lab. It’s not a competition, only trying to see where people are at, and learning what stuff they are using for what purpose.
Top to bottom.
Apc master switch network power controller. Control the power outlet via network.
Various cisco switch. Don’t use much. I use a lot more Packet tracer and GNS3 for practice my Cisco ICND2.
QNAP Ts-453a 16GB ram. Bought this to have more hand on experience with QNAP because we use it at work.
2 X Dell R710. That I bough for virtualisation, with ESXI, because we use it at work. Not too loud. My desk is a few metter aways. Nagios, DC, Some test Win VMs.
D-Link DGS-1024D Unmanaged 24-Port Gigabit. Under de R710 in the back.
Cisco SG200-26 26-port Gigabit Smart Switch. Not using it because it making to much noise. Will mod it, at some point to be silent.
So I got a 16 bay supermicro chassis. Shoved 12 4tb drives in it and put freenas on a USB. Set it up and made my 32t z3, the controller keeps resetting causing checksum errors. And on know a cheep sf8086 card that will do jobd?
Nothing fancy at all, the HPE ML110 G7 runs 24/7 (Which doesn’t actually run anything for me at the moment) 16GB Mem 1x 4 Core 4 Thread Xeon and around 2.7TB of storage.
I have 2x Dell servers
1x PE R620 16GB Mem 2x 4 Core 4 Thread Xeons
1x PE R420 32GB Mem 1x 6 Core 12 Thread Xeon
2x Liebert Online UPS’s
One is a 490W unit and the other is 1400W Max output.
The two Dell’s have VMware ESXI 6.5 Installed just for lab use at the moment only switched on when needed.
The HP Runs Windows Server 2012 R2 with the Hyper-V role installed.
I’m looking to get a Dell MD3200 SAS SAN for both of the Dell VMware Servers to Share! Also looking to add more memory to both servers unfortunately that’s not cheap around here!
The little Dell PC on the top is my Plex Server nothing special about that.
Thankfully I’ve got rails for both of mine! UPS’s on the other hand that’s a different story. Rack shelves are quite reasonably priced so I might need one of them when the time comes!
When purchasing servers here you are better to forget about the rails if it don’t come with them. Very hard to find and when you do find them they cost a mint like you say.
