Note

  • I prefer server that are more like desktop component because they tend to make less noise and heat. I have the expendability and compatibility that you want.

  • I have a IBM x3650 that i don’t use because it make alot of noise or heat. I bought it thinking that i would put it in the closet but the temperature was getting really warm in the closet after only a few hours.I might put proxmox on it and put it in the garage.

  • The switch that you see is a 16 port gigabyte switch that i mod cause it was making to much noise. My compagnie was putting it in the recycle soo i took it and remove the 1u fan and replace it with a 140mm :slightly_smiling:

  • Last summer i put a wood plank on the wall to replace un old shelf not solide. I had in plan to change the patch panel and wire more cable in my house but i’ve never had time to do it even if i have all the equiement.

  • I use 80Gb in my esxi cause i find that 80Gb last very long, it seem that they don’t died unless that you drop them. + I’m a student that is poor soo you do with what you have :stuck_out_tongue:. The server that is on that is not really critical cause it more to learn how app and server work.

Perfect setup and economical, virtualization is the way to go! Thanks for sharing bud.
