What is your preferred hypervisor and why?

So I’m just curious (both for business and for homelab / personal).

Honestly, I would probably rather use ESX / ESXi for both but I can’t afford to pay that much when I’m doing homelab stuff.

I’ve been on the client side for Citrix, it worked well and was easy to use from the client side. Never had to manage it.
I’ve had friends build out VMware ESXi and honestly if I was going to do an enterprise deployment and didn’t have a budget cap this is what I would use too. Hoping to get some Proxmox experience soon.

This aged like spoiled milk… I’m kind of glad we weren’t on vmware.

I like to use HyperV and Virtual I find them both to be easy to use.

We mainly use HyperV but I’d much rather switch to something else, I just hate having to pay for a license just to use the software to use more licenses.
