Hi, I'm Sam. I do junior IT support during the day and I'm pretty comfortable with Windows, but the Linux command line still trips me up. I've watched way too many homelab videos and finally decided to build something of my own instead of just watching.

My plan is to start small with a cheap used mini PC and get one thing running, probably ad blocking for the whole apartment first. Mostly I want to stop paying for so many subscriptions and learn some skills I can actually use at work. I tend to start projects and not finish them, so I'm hoping being around people who do this will keep me going. Looking forward to reading what everyone here is working on.

Welcome, the best way to get started is to dive right in (imo).

I think that is the most affordable way to start, so I think you have a good plan.
